Samsung is already Europe’s number one LCD flat TVs, LCD monitors, Blu-ray players, home cinema systems and side-by-side refrigerators. Now the Koreans want to expand their market leadership further. For televisions, the goal is “to further expand and simplify at the same time in order to create an Internet-capable, intuitive TV experience,” the company said. One innovation would be, for example, the screens of the new LED TVs D8000 and D7000, whose frame was reduced to 0.2 inches. In this way, the screen size is expanded without changing the external dimensions of the devices (first test of the new 8000 series: Video HomeVision, Print and App edition 4/2011, publication date: March 4). In addition to the new design, Samsung has also integrated new, so-called “Smart TV” functions into the devices. The “Samsung Smart Hub” is, for example, a simple menu system that allows you to connect to the Internet. Users can search for movies, serials, videos, or surf the web from the TV, and use a wide range of applications on the web or on connected devices.
Fast Blu-ray player and 3D sound But not enough. The Koreans want to prove their leadership in the accessories and the Blu-ray market in Europe. The world's lightest 3D optical glasses (in cooperation with Silhouette in Austria) are introduced to the market (we reported). The new Blu-ray player BD-7500 is ready to use within three seconds, can convert 2D formats to 3D or convert all content to full HD. And the Blu-ray home cinema system HT-C6750W delivers the 3D sound to the 3D image. By an audio / video synchronization, the sound "moves" almost with the 3D image, which according to Samsung data a "deeper immersion in the happenings"
